RMA Earns District Commander’s Military Construction Program Safety Achievement Award

Anaheim, Calif. (Nov. 23) - RMA Land Construction, Inc., (RMA) was awarded the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District Commander’s Military Construction Program Safety Achievement Award for zero lost time safety accidents throughout the construction of a new single-story 21,850 SF Child Development Center (CDC) at Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, NM. The Albuquerque District presented this award during the ceremonial ribbon cutting, officially opening the new CDC to serve 158 children on the base. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon RMA, the only recipient of the Commander’s Construction Program Safety Achievement Award in the Albuquerque District.

Maintaining and following the USACE safety requirements, RMA set new standards for compliance and safety. Our on-site safety officer performed inspections on equipment and scaffolding every day and various fall protection measures were taken during the installation of lightning protection and air terminals on the roof, at a height of 26 feet. RMA completed this project with over 65,700 man-hours and maintains an overall safety record of zero claims and zero lost time incidents on all government projects.

In attendance at this significant ceremony were John Moreno (Chief of Engineering and Construction, Albuquerque District), Steve Mohammad (RMA’s Executive Vice President), Jim Wilson, STS (RMA’s Sr. Superintendent / Site Safety and Health Officer), and Fabian Lopez Jr. (COE Project Engineer).
