Traditional Maile Lei Untying and Blessing Ceremony Marks Grand Opening of the 37,404 SF Child Development Center at Ford Island, JBPHH, HI

Anaheim, Calif. (Oct. 29) – The traditional untying of the Maile Lei commemorated the grand opening of the newly built Child Development Center (CDC) at Ford Island, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), HI. In attendance at this historic event were The Honorable Daniel Inouye, U.S. Senator; U.S. Navy Capt. Jeffery James, Commander JBPHH; and U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Frank Ponds, Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific. The blessing was presided over by Pastor Kahu Kordell Kekoa.

RMA-ECC, A Joint Venture performed as prime contractor on this design-build $16.7-million contract with AECOM as Lead Design Firm.
