RMA Breaks Ground at Cannon Air Force Base

Anaheim, Calif. (June 22) - RMA Land Construction, Inc., (RMA) participated in the official groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new Child Development Center at Cannon AFB, Clovis, New Mexico on June 18. Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the 27th Special Operations Wing Command, with the help of the children on base, broke ground at the five acre site to mark the start of construction.

Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the $7.96 million contract consists of the design and construction of a single-story, 23,236 SF Child Development Center to accommodate 158 children ranging in age from six weeks through five years. The facility will feature classrooms and outdoor playground areas that provide a safe and healthy environment for early childhood development and preschool programs. Scheduled to open in April 2011, the center will meet Air Force requirements and obtain the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® Silver certification for sustainability.

RMA Recognized for Outstanding Performance in Hawaii

Anaheim, Calif. (June 22) - RMA Land Construction, Inc., (RMA) earned two Awards of Excellence from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District, in recognition of Outstanding Performance for two projects performed under our Hawaii MATOC. Both the Process Control Chemistry Laboratory at the Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, Oahu, HI and the Kaumalapau Harbor Wall and Project Sign at Lanai, HI were completed ahead of schedule and with zero lost-time safety incidents.

The Corps commended RMA’s project management teams for their “heavy emphasis on maintaining a superior safety program,” partnering approach and engagement with the customer.

RMA Wins Electrical Infrastructure Project at Fort Hood, Texas

Anaheim, Calif. (Jun. 15) - RMA Land Construction, Inc., (RMA) was awarded a $9.7 Million task order under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer, Southwest Division’s Small Business MATOC. The design-build project consists of the installation of electrical infrastructure, including power distribution and telecommunications, at Fort Hood, Texas. The scope of work includes substation expansion, construction of a new telephone switching station, and installation of overhead/underground distribution feeders and telecommunication duct banks. The project is partially funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
