RMA Breaks Ground for the Design-Build Marine Corps Reserve Training Center at Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, CA

Anaheim, Calif. (April 29) - RMA Land Construction, Inc., (RMA) participated in the official groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction at the site for the new single-story, 26,910 SF Marine Corps Reserve Training Center (MCRTC) and 6,332 SF gun shed at the Naval Weapons Station (NWS), Seal Beach, CA. In attendance were Lieutenant Commander Chad Lorenzana, Public Works Office, Captain Terry Auberry, NWS Seal Beach, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffery Morgan, Marine Corps Reserve, and URS Group, Designer of Record.

The new facility will supplement the existing Marine Corps Reserve Center (MCRC) to provide additional training space and joint use of the existing MCRC facilities, as the 5th Battalion, 14th Marines relocate from MCRC Pico Rivera to MCRC Seal Beach. The project is designed to achieve the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® NC Version 3 Gold Level Certification. The project is scheduled to be completed in April of 2012.
